Not every home needs a full removal. During our free inspection we assess your specific situation and give you an honest recommendation. These are the most common signs that removal is the right call:
Many contractors will offer to simply layer new insulation on top of what is already there. In some cases that makes sense. In many Scottsdale homes, especially those with contamination, moisture damage, or severely compressed material, it does not.
If you are going to do this once, do it right. Removal first gives you a clean start and ensures everything that comes after it actually performs.
At Foam Pro Insulation, we treat removal as the foundation. Every step that follows air sealing, re-insulation only performs as well as what we do here first.
Before anything is quoted, we do a full visual assessment of your Scottsdale attic. We measure existing insulation depth, check for contamination or pest damage, locate all penetrations, and run thermal readings to pinpoint where your attic is losing performance. No commitment needed.
We use industrial-grade vacuum equipment to extract all existing blown-in or batt insulation from the attic floor. Removed material is bagged and hauled off the property. Air sealing cannot be done properly on a covered attic floor — this step gives us the clean substrate we need to seal every penetration correctly. Pricing starts at $1.20 per square foot.
With the attic floor cleared, our technicians systematically seal every penetration into your living space using professional-grade expanding foam and appropriate sealants. Can lights, ducts, electrical runs, plumbing, top plates — we work methodically from one end to the other so nothing is missed. This is the step most contractors skip. We do not.
With the attic properly sealed, we install blown-in fiberglass insulation using Knauf material to your target R-value. For most Scottsdale homes we recommend R-38 to R-49 depending on your current conditions and goals. Before and after depth photos are provided at close-out so you have documentation of exactly what was installed.
Important:
We only perform air sealing after insulation removal. This isn't arbitrary it's the only way to guarantee thorough, effective work. Sealing on top of existing insulation means missing critical bypasses and wasting your money.
We believe you should know exactly what you're paying for—before any work begins.
That's why Foam Pro publishes straightforward pricing for our core services:
Important Pricing Note: All estimates assume full attic access. Final pricing is confirmed during your free in-person inspection because every home is different, and we won't quote work we haven't seen.
