The local problem

Scottsdale attics have a real problem

Scottsdale sits in Climate Zone 2, one of the most demanding environments in the country for residential insulation. Many homes here were insulated to the code of their day, which falls well short of what a Scottsdale attic needs today.

When an attic runs at extreme temperatures for six or more months a year, thin insulation means more than a higher bill. Your HVAC system works overtime, wears out faster, and still cannot keep up with the heat coming through the ceiling.

We also see Scottsdale homes where leaking ducts quietly waste conditioned air into the attic. Our free attic inspection shows you what is up there before you decide anything.

What we do here

Insulation services in Scottsdale

The work runs in order: removal first, then air sealing so the seal can be reached, then new insulation.

Spray foam insulation

Closed-cell foam on the roofline turns the attic into a sealed, semi-conditioned space. Open-cell foam suits interior walls and sound control between rooms.

Seal it first, then insulate it right

Air sealing is the step too many contractors skip. Without it, even brand new insulation underperforms. We treat it as its own service inside the retrofit sequence, not an afterthought.

For new construction and major remodels, spray foam on the roofline is how builders create semi-conditioned attics that cut HVAC load. See our work in the insulation gallery, or browse every town on the service areas page.

Questions

Scottsdale insulation questions

Do you insulate larger Scottsdale homes?

Yes. Blown-in insulation and removal are priced per square foot, so a bigger attic simply scales the quote. Manual air sealing is $250 per 2,000 sq ft and pro-rated for larger attics, and Aeroseal is priced per AC unit. The free attic inspection ends with a same-day quote for the whole house.

Is roofline spray foam right for my Scottsdale home?

Often, when you want the attic itself kept cooler. Closed-cell foam on the underside of the roof deck is the usual choice for roofline encapsulation, at about R-6 to 7 per inch. Open-cell is about R-3.6 to 3.9 per inch. Spray foam is a custom quote, so we look at your roof first.

How hot do Scottsdale attics get, and what does it do to my AC?

Attics can reach 150 F in summer, and in Climate Zone 2 they run hot for six or more months a year. Thin insulation lets that heat press down through the ceiling, so your AC works overtime and ages faster. Added insulation at the right depth and a sealed attic reduce that load.

Should I seal my ducts as well as insulate?

If your ducts run through the attic, it is worth checking. Leaky ducts push conditioned air into the attic instead of your rooms. Aeroseal seals them from the inside and gives you a before-and-after leakage report. It is $1,950 per AC unit, with a free duct cleaning included.
